Broadway will be travelling to the far East this fall when Chinglish, the new play by Tony winner David Henry Hwang, gets its New York premiere at the Longacre Theatre. Tickets are now on sale for the show, which begins previews on October 11 and opens October 27.
Inspired by the mangled mixture of languages born out of cultural collision, Chinglish chronicles the journey of an American businessman who travels to China looking to score a lucrative contact for his family's sign-making firm. The hilarious love story stars Gary Wilmes stars as the American businessman, joined by Stephen Pucci as a British expatriate and business consultant and Jennifer Lim as a Chinese official.
